What to expect at your first Cedarbrook visit
4 min read · From the Cedarbrook team
A little nervous? Totally normal. Here's exactly how a first appointment goes — and how we keep it calm for you and your pet.
First visits can be nerve-wracking — for pets and people. Knowing the rhythm of the appointment takes the edge off, so here's exactly how it goes at Cedarbrook.
Before you arrive, you'll book online in about a minute and tell us a little about your pet. Bring any previous records, your pet's current food, and — for the nervous ones — a favorite blanket or toy that smells like home.
When you arrive, you'll head to the right space: a quiet, dog-free area for cats, and a comfortable room for dogs, so nobody has to share a tense waiting room. We let your pet explore and earn some treats before anyone reaches for a stethoscope.
The exam itself is unhurried and narrated — we'll talk you through what we're checking and why, answer every question, and never make you feel rushed. If we recommend something, you'll get a clear explanation and a written estimate before anything happens.
You'll leave with a simple plan, a way to reach us if questions come up, and — we hope — a pet who's a little less worried about the vet than they were this morning.
